San Giorgio Ingannapoltron

The small village of San Giorgio di Valpolicella, placed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, is entirely constructed of limestone on which it rests. Watching it from the foot of the hills of Valpolicella, the community gives the impression of being extremely close, deceiving the observer who must instead face a tortuous path to reach it. From there the origin of the name "Ingannapoltron" or "tricks the lazy ones." In the center of the village stands the Church of San Giorgio, an ancient Roman church dating back to 712 A.D., with the adjoining cloister, while in the small square you can enjoy a picturesque landscape that stretches down to Lake Garda.

Bicycle lane

For those who want a leisurely bike ride, the Val d'Adige offers an unusual route that starts from the outskirts of Verona and passes at the foot of the western Valpolicella. It runs along the river that runs through the city, admiring the landscape of Pescantina, then enters the Val d'Adige at Domegliara, where the valley begins to be surrounded by mountains from Chievo (district northwest of Verona). Do not miss the "Land of the Strong," which begins shortly later and extends up to the Trentino, so named for the presence of numerous military fortifications the Austro-Hungarian period.
